Monthly non-mainstream movie session at Madrid´s abandoned Cines Luna cinema.

We created the brand 'CineShock', based on the aesthetic of its genre, yet adapted to a more contemporary context. The posters are meticulously designed in a systematic way, to bring across the essence of each film through a single color, typography and photographic element.

Demons
19/2/2010

Cineshock premiered with a screening of 'Demons', a film by Lamberto Bava. It was a milestone for cult terror movies and a total success for Pelonio´s new project. Screams and applauses, frights and laughter, marked the night to the delight of cult horror fans. And while all enjoyed themselves new life was brought back the once abandoned old glory.

Motín en el Reformatorio de Mujeres
19/3/2010

For the first screening of Cineshock we made the audience feel locked you up in their cinema, terror lurking behind every seat. This time around we made them feel like they had been held up in a reformatory. Putting on display all the insights behind captivity, with a pinch of humor, Tom de Simone directed this movie with the clear intention of making it the masterpiece of its genre.

Hausu & Night of the Comet
23/4/2010

For the third time, fans of the genre, the curious, film buffs and those in between congregated in the Luna Cinema to enjoy a Double Session of Cineshock. 'Hausu', a film by Nobuhiko Obayashi, depicted the aesthetic delirium of the pure “psychedelic†in one of the less predictable movies to hit the big screen. Thom Eberhardt's 'Night of the Comet' followed. What better way to finish the night than with a horror science fiction slash zombie comedy reminiscent of a bye gone era Regan, Aturi video games and neon lights, rounded off with a Cindy Lauper soundtrack and obligatory cheerleader for good measure.

Brain Damage & Frankenhooker
21/5/2010

By now Cineshock had not only established itself as the home of non-mainstream cult horrors but had also managed to resurrect the Old Glory from obscurity. 'Frankenhooker', a bizarre romantic comedy slash horror film of the 90´s cult era, and 'Brain Damage', a classic 80´s reflection on addiction and disease, are dark gore-fest comedy masterpieces by the legendary director of the 'Basket Case'

The Burning & Dr. Alien
18/6/2010

By the fifth screening, Cineshock was The Event for classic Sci-Fi comedy enthusiasts. With the screening of 'Dr. Alien', a blockbuster Sci-Fi comedy from the late 80's, and The Burning.

Mystics in Bali & Evil Toons
23/7/2010

For the final Cineshock Screening of the summer Pelonio chose Fred Olen Ray's masterpiece 'Evil Toons', which followed in the tradition of mixing animation with live actors, and 'Mystics in Bali', one of the top Asian fantasy films ever shown on the big screen in Spain.
