Spring-Summer 2011 at Ego.

El Ego is the apple of Pelonio´s eye. Our passion for innovative experiences, coupled with our interest in fashion, inspired us to create a forward looking platform for young, up and coming designers in Madrid to showcase their designs. Where some may have been satisfied with just a niche market attending such event we wanted to create an extravaganza everyone would sit up and take notice of. We wanted our fashion shows to express ourselves, the designers and to give an insight into what the future of such fashion holds. We introduced our vision to Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week, and after ten editions parading next to some of our national star designers, it is reasonable to say that an image speaks louder than words.

September 2010

El Ego celebrated its fifth Summer Fashion Show with a very special catwalk designed by Pelonio for the occasion. Giving it was the tenth edition of El Ego, we created a platform shaping an “X”, recreating the roman number ten and giving the catwalk a versatile shape to create spectacular choreographies. New young designers Cruz Castillo and Diana Dorado step up to El Ego´s catwalk. Maya Mansen takes the L’Oreal Award for the Best Collectionl.

On this edition we also launched a new project called “Proyecto Ego BK”. The idea emerged after Burger King started to show an interest in the way El Ego sees fashion. The project seeks to link two key gaps in fashion in Spain: training and international exposure. It is an experimental project that focuses on witnessing the day to day workings of a Spanish fashion designer working and living in London through blogs and other social media tools.
For this years show Maya Mansen took the L’Oreal Award for Best Collection.
